This is Amanda Junk
Hello, all! This is Amanda Junk, features intern for The News-Sentinel. I’ll be updating the site periodically throughout the festival, chronicling my TRF adventures and blogging about some of this year’s highlights (or at least what I find interesting, anyway).
A little bit about myself and why I’m here:
I’ll be a junior sociology/magazine journalism major at Ball State University this fall. I started my internship at The News-Sentinel at the end of May, and so far have loved every minute of working here. As a Fort Wayne native, I’m really excited to scope out what TRF has to offer this year in terms of festival food (be on the lookout for a Junkfood Alley column early next week), headlining concerts (Dark Star Orchestra, for example) and new events (Dog n’ Suds Hot Dog Eating Competition).
This year’s festival is sure to be over-the-hill as far as entertainment goes, and I’m looking forward to soaking it all in. Be sure to check back often, as Kelly and I will be out-and-about around the festival looking for things to upload onto the site.
And on that note, happy 40th, TRF!

Amanda, sorry I missed your interview with Isabelle. Maybe I can get a picture of you two together later…bob
